Thokozile 

The Thokozile collective founded in 2010 on the back of a musicians’ exchange with South Africa. They play melodic, vibrant jazz and afrobeat with a distinct global sound, combining influences from the south and west of Africa with the melting pot that is London.

Expect Jazz Funk and New Orleans Grooves from Second Line, playing tunes by Stanley Turrentine, Eddie Harris, Michael Brecker, David Sanborn and Grover Washington Jr.

Soldoro 

Latin Jazz from this popular six piece featuring the vocals of Sara Harris. Picking up on many much-loved Latin tunes, they bring a fresh sound and feel to the world of jazz. Expect to hear great Latin-oriented tunes by Stevie Wonder, Joao Gilberto and Sergio Mendes and Brasil ’66 amongst others.

Nicola Farnon Trio with special guest Jim Mullen 

Yorkshire-based double bass player Nicola Farnon sings numbers from the great American songbook with Richard Wetherall on piano and special guest jazz guitar legend, Jim Mullen.

Andy Urquhart’s Fusion Five 

Top trumpeter Andy Urquhart leads a superb band performing the sophisticated Jazz Fusion of The Brecker Brothers, Weather Report and others in that ilk.

We’re delighted to bring Stompin’ favourite Zoë Schwarz back to the Quomps with her hard hitting Blue Commotion band for another session of their inimitable Blue-Rock with Jazz overtones.
Zoë’s dynamic and commanding vocal delivery is complimented by the unmistakable touch and flow of Rob Koral (guitar) and the highly accomplished rhythm section of Pete Whittaker (Hammond organ) and Eddie John (drums).

This versatile and experienced band from London specialise in creating jazz re-arrangements of songs by an eclectic mix of artists such as The Police, David Bowie and Dolly Parton, to name just a few. They’ll certainly have you dancing.

The Band that started Stompin’ closes the 2025 programme in time-honoured style with a mix of Big Band classics old and new. This year they feature rising vocalist and trumpeter Marvin Muoneke: ‘the young man with the old soul’.
